Recently, An Overseas Chinese Remittance, Guofan Ge (lyrics of overseas migration), which was composed by Yu Peihuang, written by Huang Shaopeng and sung by Teochew famous singers Song Yile and Fang Shaoshan, was nominated for "Asian Chinese Music Award - The Most Influential Dialect Song 2017". This is the first time that Shantou's singers were nominated by a continental event; it is a significant breakthrough in Chaozhou dialect songs.

Since it was released last year, An Overseas Chinese Remittance was designated as the theme song of Xidi Overseas Chinese Remittance Park; every day it is broadcast in an endless loop in the Park. The segments of Shantou-Chaozhou folk songs were incorporated into the creation of the song; the unique culture of overseas Chinese remittance is embodied in the song through the familiar Chaozhou dialect. The singers fully show the dignified sense of history and the distinctive significance of the era by adopting the popular singing method and integrating the elements of current trends into the song.
