The top-level design and planning of "One belt & one road" with much attention at home and abroad, was finally unveiled. Shantou Port, together with Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhanjiang port, are included in the coastal ports for focused construction.

Shantou Port is one of the 25 national major coastal ports, an important foreign trade port in southern China, and the first port in Guangdong for direct shipping to Taiwan, with exchanges of goods with 268 ports in 57 countries and regions. Currently it has 7 port areas, with 87 500-ton berths, including 19 10000-ton deep-water berths. Next, Shantou will actively dock the planning and construction of "One belt & one road", constantly speeding up the construction of port infrastructure, improving port transport capacity and function, with focus on the development of Guang＇ao and Haimen port area, to clear the "Context" of "Sea port" and broaden the channel, to help Shantou＇ integration into the country＇s new strategic plan, and provide support for speeding up the construction of the Overseas Chinese Pilot Zone.

　　备受国内外关注的国家“一带一路”建设顶层设计规划终于亮相，汕头港和我省广州、深圳、湛江三个城市的港口一道，被列入“一带一路”加强建设的沿海港口。
　　汕头港是沿海25个国家级主要港口之一、华南地区对外贸易的重要口岸，也是广东省率先实现对台海上直航的港口，至今已与世界57个国家和地区的268个港口有货物往来。现有7个港区，500吨级以上泊位87个，其中万吨级深水泊位19个。接下来，我市将积极对接“一带一路”规划建设，不断提速港口基础设施建设、提升港口集疏运能力，完善功能，重点发展广澳港区和海门港区，把“出海口”的“脉络”贯通、通道拓宽筑牢，助力我市融入国家新一轮战略部署，为提速华侨试验区建设提供支撑。
