From January 6th to 7th, Peleg Lewi, the Consul General of Israel to Guangzhou, paid a visit to Shantou and had a deep exchange with our city in regard to advancing the construction of Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology and strengthening the cooperation in science, technology, industry and culture.
Mayor Zheng Jiange made a statement in the pannel discussion that the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government would continue to provide all-dimensional support and services for the construction and development of Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology. He hoped that the two sides would establish a regular contact mechanism to strengthen industrial connection, technology research and development cooperation and cultural exchanges, and push the cooperation between the two sides to a new level with Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology as the link and China-Israel (Shantou) Cooperation Zone for Sci-tech Innovation as a platform. Peleg Lewi said that Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology, as an important cooperation project between China and Israel, had been attached great importance to by the Israeli government and the effectiveness of the school construction and running deserved full recognition. Besides, the Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou would continue to be committed to the development of Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology and further enhance the international school-running level and influence. At the same time, the relationships would continuously be forged for exchanges and cooperation between the two places, and the cooperation would be further promoted to a higher level and cover a wider range.

以色列驻广州总领事劳霈乐莅汕访问
1月6日至7日，以色列驻广州总领事劳霈乐莅汕访问，与我市就推进广东以色列理工学院建设，加强科技、产业、文化等领域合作进行深入交流。
市长郑剑戈在座谈中表示，市委市政府将一如既往为广东以色列理工学院建设发展提供全方位支持和服务，希望双方建立定期联系机制，以广东以色列理工学院为纽带，以中以（汕头）创新合作区为平台，加强产业对接、技术研发合作和文化交流，推动双方合作再上新台阶。劳霈乐表示，广东以色列理工学院作为中以两国重要的合作项目，得到以色列政府的高度重视，学校建设和办学成效值得充分肯定，以色列驻广州总领馆将继续全力支持广以理工学院发展，进一步提升学校的国际化办学水平和影响力。同时，将继续为促进两地交流合作牵线搭桥，进一步推动两地在更高层次、更宽领域深化合作。
