Since the beginning of this year, Shantou has given the full play to the advantages against Taiwan to fully expand the all-round exchange and cooperation between Guangdong and Taiwan and between Shantou and Taiwan. It has mobilized the marine and aviation logistics industry in Taiwan and the businessmen from Taiwan to participate in the operation of marine freight lines between Shantou and Taiwan by fully utilizing the preferential policies and to develop transmit trade through Taiwan, and has explored revitalizing the small-amount trade with Taiwan. Meanwhile, Shantou has fully promoted the construction of key projects of 2011 relevant to Taiwanese capital such as the commercial complex of Clevo Co. at the east of the 11th Street to highlight the development of "Taiwanese" business. By June 2011, in Shantou, there had been a total of 632 Taiwanese-funded enterprises that had been approved for registration over the years. The total contractual investment amount is USD1.717 billion and the actually utilized capital from Taiwan is USD1.201 billion. Capital from Taiwan has become an important part of the export-oriented economy of Shantou.

　　今年以来我市充分挖掘对台优势，全力拓展粤台、汕台两地全方位交流合作，动员台湾港航物流业界、台商充分利用优惠政策参与经营汕台海上货运航线，发展对台转口贸易，探索盘活对台小额贸易，同时全力推进台湾蓝天电脑十一街区东商业综合体等2011年涉台重点项目建设，突出做大“台”字文章。截止今年6月，全市历年累计批准注册台资企业632家，合同投资总额17.17亿美元，实际利用台资额12.01亿美元，台资已成为汕头外向型经济的重要组成部分。
