A few days ago, Shantou City signed a "Letter of Intent on Strategic Cooperation between Shantou Port and Kaohsiung Port" with Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Such activity will further establish all-round and in-depth strategic partnership between both sides. In particular, both sides will implement mutual cooperation in shipping, port logistics, and other related aspects to achieve the goal of mutual benefit and win-win situation.

Since its opening, Shantou-Taiwan direct sea freight route has maintained the momentum of rapid development. Next, Shantou will make great efforts to popularize Shantou＇s preferential policies and convenient measures for the direct route to and from Taiwan. Meanwhile, Shantou will build a plastic pellets trade center for Taiwan businessmen and try to turn Shantou into the landing place for agricultural products from Taiwan. It will develop the traditional marketing advantages to build Shantou into a collection and distribution center for agricultural products from Taiwan to East Guangdong and even to the whole country.

　　日前，我市与台湾高雄市签署了“汕头港与高雄港战略合作意向书”，将进一步建立全方位，深层次的战略合作关系，特别将在有关航运和港口物流等各方面相互合作，以达互惠双赢之目标。
　　汕台海上货运直航开通以来，保持了快速发展势头。下来，我市将大力度宣传对台直航航线的优惠政策和便利措施，同时建设对台塑料粒交易中心，并争取汕头成为台湾农产品的登陆点，发挥传统营销优势，将汕头建成台湾农产品向粤东乃至全国辐射的集散中心。
