On the afternoon of August 24, Shantou Port Group Corp. and Cosco Pacific Limited held a signing ceremony for cooperation intention agreement which will further consolidate and deepen the cooperation between both sides, bring new and strong driving force to the port development, and push forward a higher level development of Shantou Port as well as bring the port to a new and high speed development period.

In accordance with the signed cooperation intention agreement, both sides will utilize the high-quality assets of Shantou Port Group Corp. and the port operation experience and funds of Cosco Pacific through state-owned enterprise reform, capital operation and other series of resources integration means, to build a joint-stock enterprise of considerable scale and core competitiveness in the port industry in East Guangdong through cooperation, expand the port business scale of Shantou, and greatly improve the profits, so as to develop into an excellent coastal port listing company and promote the rapid development of the port industry in East Guangdong.
