On January 9-11, Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) paid an investigation visit to Shantou, and Mayor Zheng Renhao received and accompanied Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont and his entourage on an inspection tour to the planning showroom of Haiwan New District and the construction site of the East Coast New Town.

Mr. Zheng Renhao pointed out that Shantou is doing now will serve Shantou as well as the surrounding area in the boundary region of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi Provinces where 20 million people live. He hoped CP Group and more overseas Chinese would support Shantou＇s development as usual and get actively involved in the construction of the Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Experiment Zone. Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont said Shantou＇s development in recent years has greatly encouraged him and the government＇s brand-new service concept, in particular, has boosted his confidence in Shantou＇s future development. CP Group will not only invest and develop in the Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Experiment Zone but also invite more leading enterprises to join in Shantou＇s development and promote the renaissance of the special economic zone.

　　1月9日至11日，泰国正大国际集团董事长谢国民莅汕考察。市长郑人豪会见了谢国民一行，并陪同参观海湾新区规划展示馆和东海岸新城施工现场。
　　郑人豪指出，汕头现在所作的事情不仅服务汕头，还服务闽粤赣、周边地区2000万人口，希望正大集团和更多的华人华侨能一如既往支持汕头发展，积极投身、参与到华侨试验区的建设中。谢国民表示，汕头近年来良好的发展态势让他倍受鼓舞，特别是政府的全新服务理念让他对汕头未来的发展信心十足。正大集团不仅要在华侨试验区投资发展，还要带动一些有实力的企业来汕共同发展，推动特区再创辉煌。
