On the afternoon of March 25, Shantou held the symposium on the economic construction of greater Shantou Bay area, and invited experts from national high-level think tank —— the Development Research Center of the State Council and the Ministry of Transport, etc. to make recommendations and mastermind a scheme for the planning and construction of greater Shantou Bay area, so as to plan and construct greater Shantou Bay area at a high starting point with a high standard.
 

Experts believe that, in order to allow Shantou to play the "engine" of the modernization of east Guangdong in the new round of development and become a regional central city with leading ability, greater Shantou Bay area can become an important stage and carrier. Shantou＇s future industry types and developmental patterns should be well addressed. Shantou should, relying on resource endowment, build modern Bay area economy with new development momentum. Shantou should further engage with the national strategy, fully integrate port with coastal resources, expand inland hinterland, give full play to regional advantages, and become an important node city of China＇s "Belt and Road" strategy.

　　3月25日下午,我市召开大汕头湾区经济建设研讨会,邀请国家级高水平智库——国务院发展研究中心以及交通运输部等有关专家,为大汕头湾区规划建设把脉出招、出谋划策,高起点、高标准规划建设大汕头湾区。

　　专家们认为,汕头在新一轮发展中要扮演粤东现代化的“引擎”,建设成为具有引领能力的区域中心城市,大湾区可以成为一个重要的舞台和载体。要解决好汕头未来的产业类型和发展模式,依托资源禀赋,以新的发展动能,打造现代化湾区经济。要进一步对接国家战略,充分整合港口及滨海资源,拓宽内陆腹地,发挥区位优势,建设成为国家“一带一路”战略的重要节点城市。
