Since this year, Shantou＇s economy has been opened and moved higher with various bright points. The main economic indicators are better than expected, and maintain a trend of going well. In particular, the effectiveness of promoting innovation-driven, developing the real economy and accelerating the transformation and upgrading has gradually emerged.
 

In the first half of 2017, Shantou realized a GDP of RMB 106.487 billion, an increase of 9.1％ over the previous year, and the growth rate was ranked second in Guangdong Province; Shantou＇s investment in fixed assets was RMB 89.862 billion, an increase of 28.2％ over the previous year, and the growth rate was ranked third in Guangdong Province; Shantou＇s value added of industries above designated size was RMB 40.724 billion, an increase of 9.2％ over the previous year, and the growth rate was ranked fourth in Guangdong Province; Shantou＇s total retail sales of consumer goods were RMB 82.944 billion, an increase of 11.4％ over the previous year, and the growth rate was ranked fourth in Guangdong Province; and Shantou＇s general financial budget revenue was RMB 7.323 billion, an increase of 11％ over the previous year.

　　上半年全市实现地区生产总值1064.87亿元，同比增长9.1％，增速列全省第2位;固定资产投资898.62亿元，增长28.2％，增速列全省第三;规模以上工业增加值407.24亿元，增长9.2％，增速列全省第四;社会消费品零售总额829.44亿元，增长11.4％，增速列全省第四;一般财政预算收入73.23亿元，增长11％。
