On May 18, a group of key entrepreneurs of Beijing Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce, which was headed by Zhang Zhangsun, President of Beijing Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce and Board Chairman of Glory Land Group, visited Shantou.

At the meeting with Zhang Zhangsun and his party, Fang Lixu, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, pointed out that Shantou is making every effort to implement the thinking of "imitating the free trade zone, benchmarking with the free trade port, and catching up with the Greater Bay Area", to enhance the "Brand Reputation of Shantou Special Economic Zone", and to fully adapt to a new round of reform and opening up in thinking and ideas, policies and initiatives, social governance, tightening discipline and fighting corruption, raising cultural-ethical standards and other areas, so as to better develop Shantou Special Economic Zone and elevate it to a higher level. He hoped that the fellow entrepreneurs would often visit their hometown and actively participate in a new round of development and construction in Shantou.

Zhang Zhangsun said that currently Teochew businessmen are  enormously enthusiastic about investment back home and participation in the development and construction of Shantou, and hope to find business opportunities through further investigations and develop their business in Shantou.
