In the first quarter of this year, the city's economic operation achieved a smooth start, with a regional GDP of 53.369 billion yuan, an increase of 6.6% and 0.2% higher than the national growth rate; we completed fixed assets investment of 27.8 billion yuan with an increase of 11.2% and 4.9% higher than national growth rate; the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 47.5 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1%.The economic operation shows the characteristics of enhancement in driving force of service industry, high-speed increase of infrastructure investment, steady growth of new momentum.

汕头一季度经济运行实现平稳开局
今年一季度，我市经济运行实现平稳开局，完成地区生产总值533.69亿元，增长6.6%，增速高于全国0.2个百分点；完成固定资产投资278亿元，增长11.2%，增速高于全国4.9个百分点；实现社会消费品零售总额475亿元，增长6.1%。经济运行呈现服务业拉动力增强、基础设施投资高速增长、新动能稳健成长等特点。
