Shantou regards the development of modern service industry as the strategic measure to speed up the mode transformation, structure adjustment and modern industry system construction, and the important way to enhance the urban development concept of the special zone, to intensify the service functions of the central city, and to build happy and harmonious Shantou. A few days ago, in the routine meeting of Shantou Municipal Government, the Development Planning for Modern Service Industry of Shantou City (2011-2020) was reviewed and approved, which has offered a grand blueprint for Shantou＇s development of modern service industry.

According to the principles of "integrating resources, expanding space and centralized development", Shantou will integrate the elemental resources and boost the centralized development of the service industry by breaking administrative area division, so as to form a new pattern for the reasonable service industry space layout with complete functions, distinctive features and centralized business.

　　我市将发展现代服务业作为加快转方式、调结构，建设现代产业体系的战略举措，作为提升特区城市发展理念，强化中心城市服务功能，建设幸福和谐汕头的重要抓手。日前市政府常务会议审议通过《汕头市现代服务业发展规划(2011—2020)》，为我市现代服务业的发展绘就了壮阔蓝图。
　　按照“整合资源、拓展空间、集聚发展”的原则，我市将通过打破行政区域分割，整合要素资源，推动服务业集聚发展，形成布局合理、功能完善、特色鲜明、业态集聚的服务业空间布局新格局。
