In order to vigorously promote the development of modern information outsourcing service industry, seize the high-end dominant position of international industry chain and expand Shantou＇s international influence, Shantou has accelerated to promote the "Shantou Data Special Zone" as a priority since this year. Currently, the preliminary work is under way in full swing. 

The "Data Special Zone" refers to the offshore service outsourcing park that takes the large-scale, high-availability and new-generation green data center as the core infrastructure for which special policies are implemented and which especially provides data center operation and application service for the overseas institutes. "Shantou Data Special Zone" Project will be built into the first special industry park internationally integrating a variety of data center business, including the infrastructure and application services for data storage, mining, processing, backup, Internet data centers, financial back-office service, e-commerce, animation, call centers, and other various high, medium and low-end data centers, and will form the industrial chain system.

　　为大力推动现代信息外包服务产业发展，抢占国际产业链高端优势地位，扩大汕头的国际影响力，今年以来我市将“汕头数据特区”项目作为重点工作加快推进，目前各项前期工作正紧锣密鼓进行中。
　　“数据特区”是指以大规模、高可用、新一代绿色数据中心为核心基础设施，实行特殊政策，专门为境外机构提供数据中心运营和应用服务的离岸服务外包园区。“汕头数据特区”项目将建成国际首个聚集各种数据中心业务的特色产业园区，包括数据存储、挖掘、加工、备份、互联网数据中心、金融后台服务，电子商务、动漫、呼叫中心等各种高中低端数据中心基础和应用业务，并形成产业链体系。
