On the morning of July 16, the development & planning results briefing of East Guangdong Logistics Headquarter New Town and inauguration of e-commerce base were held in Shantou.  The Party secretary Li Feng and the general manager of China Minmetals Corporation Sun Xiaomin jointly inaugurated "the E-commerce Industry Base of Longhu District of Shantou" and "joint construction of East Guangdong Modern Logistics Development Demonstration Zone" in the east Guangdong logistics headquarters new town.

This project covers a total area of 8 square kilometers, which is characteristic of industrial chain headquarter economy and high-end services to create an eco-smart and vital metropolis. The e-commerce is one of its major industries. The inauguration of the e-commerce base symbolizes the official launch of e-commerce industry in the east Guangdong logistics headquarters new town, which will provide a brand new platform for the development of e-commerce in Shantou and neighboring cities, injecting new vitality into the future merchants of the headquarter new town. So far, a number of e-commerce enterprises have signed the letter of intent.

　　7月16日上午，我市举行粤东物流总部新城发展规划成果汇报会暨电子商务基地揭牌仪式。市委书记李锋、中国五矿股份有限公司总经理孙晓民共同为粤东物流总部新城“汕头市龙湖区电子商务产业基地”和“共建粤东现代物流发展示范区”揭牌。
　　粤东物流总部新城项目总占地面积约8平方公里，项目开发将以产业链总部经济及高端服务业为特色，打造生态智慧型活力新城。电子商务是粤东物流总部新城的主业之一。此次电子商务基地揭牌仪式，标志着粤东物流总部新城电子商务产业正式启动，将为汕头及周边城市电子商务产业的发展提供一个全新的平台，为粤东总部新城未来的招商工作注入崭新活力。截至目前，已有多家电子商务企业签订入住意向书。
