On August 1, Shantou government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (SINOPHARM), and joined hands to open the way toward cooperation, which will be a brand new driving force for the development of pharmaceutical industry in Shantou and effectively give impetus to its transformation and upgradation so that it will be elevated to a new high.

After signing the agreement, SINOPHARM takes Shantou as the major base for the expansion of medicine production, brings Shantou into the network of national pharmaceutical distribution, and gives priority to Shantou to create it as an operation platform for international integration so that Shantou will become a port for importing and exporting medicines . Shantou government will support SINOPHARM for the expansion of businesses and services mainly by using local resources and administrative resources to actively boost the commercialization of SINOPHARM.

　　8月1日上午，汕头市政府与中国医药集团总公司签订战略合作框架协议，开启双方携手合作的大门，这将为我市医药产业发展带来新的强劲动力，有效推动我市医药产业转型升级，迈向更高水平。
　　双方签订战略合作协议后，国药集团将把汕头作为拓展药品研发生产的重要基地;把汕头纳入其全国医药流通配送网络;优先在汕头打造国际经营一体化平台，促进汕头成为我国药品进出口口岸。汕头市政府主要是利用地方资源、行政资源，支持国药集团拓展延伸业务范围和服务功能，积极支持国药集团商业化发展。
