On the morning of September 22, Shantou Port Group Corp. and Tangshan Port Group Co., Ltd. signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement. The two sides will further deepen and expand the cooperation in container shipping routes, warehousing, logistics trade and other fields, strengthen the goods exchanges and economic ties between east Guangdong and north China, and achieve win-win results.

Shantou Port and Tangshan Port have close business contacts. The weekly direct container shipping route between "Jingtang – Shantou" was successfully opened on January 21, 2016, which would give full play to the bridgehead role of Tangshan Port in the ports of north China, enabling material flows to reach Bohai Bay through regional routes and cover the whole north China, open the logistics channel between south China and north China, and expand the stone materials and sanitary fittings of Jieyang, the quartz sand of Meizhou, and other hinterland goods sources. The strategic cooperation would give full play to the advantages of the cooperation between ports as well as between port and shipping, vigorously expand the container business, and further strengthen the goods exchanges and economic ties between east Guangdong and north China.

　　汕头港和唐山港有着密切业务往来，今年1月21日成功开通了“京唐——汕头”集装箱每周一班直航精品航线，充分发挥唐山港在北方港口桥头堡作用，通过支线辐射渤海湾，覆盖整个北方地区，打通南北物流大通道，拓展了揭阳石材、洁具、梅州石英砂等腹地货源。此次战略合作，更加充分发挥港港、港航合作优势，大力拓展集装箱业务，进一步加强粤东与北方地区货物往来和经济联系。
