To promote the economic and trading cooperation and exchanges between our city and the areas of North America, the economic and trading delegation of Shantou went to the US, Mexico and Canada to launch a series of economic and trading activities on October 9——18, and during their stay, they also visited the overseas Chinese from Chaozhou and Shantou for a happy reunion and seeking to accelerate development with them.

On the evening of October 9, the delegationvisited Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce of America and Southern California Teo-Chew Association U.S.A. and held an economic and trade negotiation meeting. The Municipal Commerce Bureau signed the Agreement of Shantou Liaison Office for Economic and Trade Investment Promotion with Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce of America and the Municipal Import & Export Chamber of Commerce signed the Memorandum for Setting Up Liaison Offices with Southern California Teo-Chew Association U.S.A.

On October 15, the delegation jointly held an economic and trade talkwith Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce of Canada. The Municipal Commerce Bureau and Municipal Import & Export Chamber of Commerce of Shantou signed the Agreement of Shantou Liaison Office for Economic and Trade Investment Promotion and the Memorandum for Setting Up Liaison Offices with Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce of Canada respectively.

During their stay in North America, the delegation visited Chinese Entrepreneurs Association of Mexico and investigated North America Branch of Yi Hua Group, and in addition to that, it negotiated with BASE Entertainment of the US for the settlement of its project in the bonded area of Shantou.

　　为进一步促进我市与北美地区的经贸合作与交流，10月9日至18日，汕头市经贸代表团赴美国、墨西哥和加拿大开展系列经贸活动，走访旅外乡亲，畅叙乡情乡谊，共谋加快发展。
　　10月9日晚，汕头市经贸代表团拜会了美国潮商总会及美国南加州潮州会馆，并举办经贸洽谈会。市商务局与美国潮商总会签署了“汕头经贸招商联络处协议书”，市进出口商会与美国南加州潮州会馆签署“互设联络处备忘录”。
　　10月15日，代表团与加拿大温哥华潮商总会联合举办经贸恳谈会，市商务局、汕头市进出口商会分别与加拿大潮商总会签署“汕头经贸招商联络处协议书”和“互设联络处备忘录”。
　　在北美期间，代表团还拜会墨西哥中华企业协会、考察了宜华集团北美分公司，并与美国BASE娱乐公司洽谈项目落户汕头保税区事宜。
