On the afternoon of April 10, a visiting delegation visited Shantou and had in-depth exchanges with Shantou Government. The honorable heads of the visiting delegation were served by Wu Yangwei, Director of HK Island Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People＇s Government in Hong Kong S.A.R., and Liu Zongming, a member of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and the head of the visiting delegation was served by Lin Zhenhong, president of Hong Kong Shantou Merchants Association.
 

At the meeting, Chen Liangxian, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, hoped that the folks of Chaozhou origin would care and support Shantou as ever, offer more advices and act as a go-between for the development of their hometown, as well as encourage and guide more overseas Chinese at home and abroad to return to their hometown for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Wu Yangwei and Lin Zhenhong said that Hong Kong Shantou Merchants Association would give full play to its bridging and linking role, deepen economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between Shantou and Hong Kong, and make greater efforts to publicize the changes in Shantou so that more overseas Chinese would know Shantou better and support for the development of Shantou; meanwhile, Hong Kong Shantou Merchants Association would lead more folks of Chaozhou origin to return their hometown for inspection and investment, and make greater contributions to the development of Hong Kong and the revitalization of Shantou.

　　4月10日下午,由香港中联办港岛工作部部长吴仰伟任荣誉团长、全国政协委员刘宗明任名誉团长、香港汕头商会会长林镇洪任团长的香港汕头商会访问团一行莅汕,与我市进行深入交流。

　　市委书记陈良贤在会见中希望广大潮籍乡贤一如既往地关注支持汕头,多为家乡发展把脉支招、牵线搭桥,鼓舞和引导更多的旅港乡亲和众多海内外华侨华人回乡创新创业。

　　吴仰伟、林镇洪表示,香港汕头商会将进一步发挥好桥梁纽带作用,深化汕港两地经济文化的交流合作,多宣传汕头的变化,让更多的在外乡亲了解汕头、支持汕头发展;同时,带动更多潮籍乡亲回乡考察投资,为香港发展、汕头振兴作出更大贡献。
