On the morning of August 8, the Opening Ceremony of Shantou China Merchants Port Group Co., Ltd. was held in the newly built Guang＇ao Port Joint Inspection Building, opening a brand-new page in the history of Shantou Port.

"Shantou China Merchants Port Group Co., Ltd." is a joint venture cooperation project of China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited and Shantou Port Group Corp. In September last year, China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited and Shantou Municipal Government signed the framework cooperation agreement. In April this year, three parties including the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shantou Municipality, China Merchants Port Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Shantou Port Group Corp. signed the agreement of capital increase and share expansion. According to the agreement, China Merchants Port Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. increased capital of RMB 5.432 billion to Shantou Port Group Corp. The new company registered capital was RMB 125 million. China Merchants Port Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. held 60％ of the shares, while the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shantou Municipality held 40％ of the shares.

　　8月8日上午，汕头招商局港口集团有限公司揭牌仪式在新落成的广澳港区联检大楼举行，翻开了汕头港历史崭新的一页。
　　“汕头招商局港口集团有限公司”为招商局港口控股有限公司与汕头港务集团有限公司合资合作项目。去年9月招商局港口与汕头市政府签订框架合作协议，今年4月市国资委、招商局港口发展(深圳)有限公司、汕头港务集团三方签订增资扩股协议。根据协议，招商局港口发展(深圳)有限公司向港务集团增资54.32亿元，新公司注册资本1.25亿元，招商局港口发展(深圳)有限公司占股60％，汕头市国资委占股40％。
