On the morning of August 14, Chen Liangxian, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, met Nadav Cohen, Consul General of Israel to Guangzhou, and his party in Shantou, who were attending the first opening ceremony of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. The two sides made cordial exchanges for further deepening cooperation between Shantou and Israel.

On behalf of Shantou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Chen Liangxian welcomed Nadav Cohen and his party. He hoped Shantou and Israel would take this event as a starting point, and promote bilateral cooperation to a broader and higher level. Shantou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government would do its best to support the work of the North Campus, and accelerate the construction of South Campus at the same time. Nadav Cohen highly appreciated Shantou＇s desire for technological innovation as well as the quality and efficiency with which Shantou accelerated the construction of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and promoted the landing of bilateral cooperation projects. He said he would do his best to follow up and promote the construction of existing cooperation and docking projects, as well as organize and guide more Israeli enterprises to inspect Shantou, so as to seek cooperation and common development.

　　陈良贤代表市委、市政府对南可安一行的到访表示欢迎，希望汕头与以色列以此为起点，将双方的合作推向更宽领域，更高层次。汕头市委、市政府一定会全力以赴支持北校区各项工作，同时加快南校区建设。南可安对我市加快广东以色列理工学院建设、推动双方合作项目落地的质量、效率，以及对技术创新的渴望高度赞赏，表示将尽自己最大的努力，继续跟进推动已有合作对接项目建设，组织、引导更多以色列企业来汕参观考察，谋求合作，共同发展。
