On the morning of November 11, the construction launching ceremony of Guangdong Jindonghai Research Institute was held in Zhugang New Town, Shantou. Covering an area of 35 mu, with a total construction area of 140,000sq.m. and an investment about 1.2 billion yuan, the research institute＇s construction period is set at two and a half years.

As the first research institute to be invested and built by enterprises in East Guangdong, Guangdong Jindonghai Research Institute will,  with scientific innovation support from the International Industrial Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, China Engineering  Consulting Association (CECA) Industry Cross-border Promotion Center, Changsha University of Science and Technology and Chongqing Jiaotong University,  carry out all-round cooperation, and, in the future, will integrate the functions of research and development, evaluation, trading, production and exhibition. Focused on the research in new materials an new energy, it will build application and service platforms for new technologies and new products, hatch scientific innovation enterprises, and transform and industrialize innovative achievements.

　　11月11日上午，广东金东海研究院建设启动仪式在汕头珠港新城举行。研究院占地面积35亩，总建筑面积14万平方米，工程投资约12亿元人民币，建设工期两年半。
　　作为粤东首个由企业投资建设的研究院，广东金东海研究院将依托国家发改委国际产业合作中心、中设协产业跨界促进中心、长沙理工大学、重庆交通大学作为科技创新重要支撑开展全方位合作，未来将集研发、评估、交易、生产、展示等功能于一体，以研究新材料、新能源领域为核心，构建新技术、新产品应用与服务平台，孵化科技创新企业，实现成果转化与产业化。
