Construction of Shantou-Shanwei Railway begins formally

On December 26, construction of Shantou-Shanwei Railway officially started. The first section of the construction is from the entrance of Tunnel 1 of Dananshan to the exit of Tunnel 2 of Dananshan, which covers 15.8 km. This indicates that, after the railways for the bullet train of Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway are constructed in the central urban area of Shantou, the city will usher in high-speed rail with a speed of 350 km per hour. After the completion of the project, it will be connected with the Guangzhou-Shanwei Railway. In the future, this new line will enable a train to travel from Shantou Railway Station to Guangzhou directly, and the whole journey will only take about 1.5 hours, which will greatly facilitate people's travelling.

汕头至汕尾铁路正式开工
12月26日，汕头至汕尾铁路正式开工，先期开工段为大南山1号隧道进口至大南山2号隧道出口，线路长度15.8公里。这标志着继厦深铁路动车组进入汕头中心城区之后，我市又将迎来时速达到350公里的高铁。项目建成后，将与广州-汕尾铁路贯通，未来可通过这条新线路从汕头火车站乘车直达广州，全程仅需1.5小时左右，将极大方便群众出行。
