On the morning ofJune 6, professor Dickson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester in UK, inspected Shantou, further followed up the relevant matters on jointly building the Leicester Research Institute of Finance with Shantou Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Pilot Area, and learned about the relevant situation of the development of financial industry in Shantou City.

Recently, the University of Leicester in UK, Shantou University and the Administrative Committee of Shantou Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Pilot Area signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation. The three parties reached a preliminary opinion on establishing a technology transfer platform, conducting cooperation on undergraduate and master education, and supervising the Research Institute of Finance, etc. Professor Dickson said that she was very much looking forward to cooperating with Shantou University and Shantou Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Pilot Area, and that she hoped to use the relevant experience of the University of Leicester to integrate the international financial concepts into Shantou and to provide intellectual support for the planning and reform of Shantou Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Pilot Area in financial aspects.

　　6月6日上午，英国莱斯特大学副校长迪克逊教授莅汕参观考察，进一步落实与汕头华侨试验区共建莱斯特金融研究院等相关事项，了解汕头市金融业发展有关情况。
　　日前，英国莱斯特大学、汕头大学与汕头华侨试验区管委会签订了《合作谅解备忘录》，三方就设立技术转移平台、开展本科硕士教育合作及监理金融研究院等合作达成初步意见。迪克逊教授表示，非常期待与汕头大学和华侨试验区开展合作，希望能利用学校的相关经验，将国际化金融概念融入汕头，为华侨试验区在金融方面的规划和改革提供智力支持。
