From December 2nd to 5th, Fang Lixu, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, led Shantou municipal delegation to pay a goodwill visit to Thailand, visited local Chinese associations, chambers of commerce and eminent persons of Teochew origin, publicized Shantou's new changes in the new era, and promoted further exchanges and cooperation between Thailand and Shantou. This visit attracted wide attention from all sectors of society in Thailand and China. Overseas Chinese in Thailand gave a high appraisal to the achievements of Shantou in the past 40 years of reform and opening up. They expressed that they would actively participate in the construction of Shantou. A complete success was made in the exchange activity.
