In order to celebrate the 19th World Intellectual Property Day and demonstrate the environment and development of intellectual property protection in Shantou, the Office of the Municipal Government Intellectual Property held the 2018 Press Conference on Intellectual Property Protection in Shantou on the morning of April 25.
Intellectual Property in Shantou proliferated in 2018, during which the city has won the title of "Demonstration City of National Intellectual Property" along with five others in the new round of such title release. The city has added four national IPR demonstration enterprises and 11 advantageous enterprises, with a record number of new highs; two provincial IPR demonstration and superior enterprises; 237 high-tech certified enterprises; 13 enterprises have obtained IPR management standards with national standard certification, totaling 24; the number of gaining national patent awards has reached a new high and exceeded double digits for the first time. Shantou is also actively promoting the construction of platforms, with a total of 10 patents to be pledged financing 188.8 billion yuan in 2018; a credit risk compensation funds totaling 100 million for small and medium-sized micro-enterprise and a policy guarantor funded with 130 million yuan have been set up.

汕头举办2018年知识产权保护状况新闻发布会
为庆祝第19个世界知识产权日，展示汕头良好的知识产权保护环境和发展成效，4月25上午，市政府知识产权办公会议办公室举办汕头市2018年知识产权保护状况新闻发布会。
2018年是我市知识产权事业快速发展的一年，汕头荣获“国家知识产权示范城市”称号，系全国新一批6个国家知识产权示范城市之一。全市新增国家知识产权示范企业4家、优势企业11家，数量双创历史新高；新增省知识产权示范和优势企业2家；通过高企认定237家；有13家企业取得企业知识产权管理规范国家标准认证，累计达24家；国家专利奖获奖数量创新高并首次突破两位数。我市还积极推进平台建设，2018年共有10项专利获得质押融资1888亿元；设立了总规模1亿元的中小微企业信贷风险补偿基金和1.3亿元政策性担保机构。
