Recently, the Economic Daily published an article titled "70 Years of Cities: Change China and Influence the World ", introducing the latest research results of the research group of China Urban Competitiveness Report, National Academy of Economic Strategy, CASS. From the perspective of urban competitiveness, the report identifies 70 cities with the most successful economic and social development in 70 years of new China, among which Shantou ranks.
   
The report points out that in the past 70 years of China's economic and social development, Shantou has changed from the Chaoshan overseas Chinese hometown to the central city of eastern Guangdong, and with its 2018 GDP increment by 1732 times compared with that in the initial stage of new China and a per capita GDP of 44,600 yuan, Shantou has achieved a magnificent and splendid turnaround.

汕头跻身新中国七十年经济社会发展最成功七十城　

近日，经济日报刊发文章《城市70年改变中国影响世界》，介绍中国社会科学院财经战略研究院《中国城市竞争力报告》课题组最新研究成果。报告从城市竞争力视角来寻找新中国70年来经济社会发展最成功的70个城市，汕头名列其中。

报告指出，在中国70年来经济社会发展中，汕头从潮汕侨乡变身粤东中心城市，2018年GDP增长到建国初期的1732倍，人均GDP为4.46万元，实现了华丽而精彩的转身。
