From 0:00 on October 11, Shantou Railway Station began to implement a new train diagram. After the diagram adjustment, 7 pairs of D-Series high-speed trains are added. A total of 25.5 pairs of D-Series high-speed trains and general-speed trains are opened every day, including Shantou-Changshanan train, the first inter-provincial D-Series high-speed train to an inland province; Shantou-Zhanjiangxi D-Series high-speed train connecting eastern Guangdong and western Guangdong, and Shantou-Meizhouxi D-Series high-speed train, which basically cover different periods of the whole day, making it convenient for passengers to choose.
The newly opened Meilong-Shantou Railway has a total of 4 pairs of peak trains to and from Shantou Station and Meizhouxi Station. In the fastest case, the whole journey only takes 1 hour and 16 minutes. The newly-opened high-speed train from Shantou to Changsha South Station takes about 6 hours with Chaoshan, Lufeng, Huizhounan, Shenzhenbei, Humen, Guangzhounan, Shaoguan, Hengshanxi and other stops along the route, saving more than 10 hours compared with the original ordinary speed train.

汕头火车站实行新列车运行图 增开动车7对
10月11日零时起,汕头火车站实行新的列车运行图。调图后,将增开动车7对,每天最多开行动车组和普速列车共25.5对,包括首次开行内地省份跨省动车汕头至长沙南列车,连通粤东粤西的汕头至湛江西动车,以及开行汕头至梅州西动车,基本覆盖全天不同时段,方便旅客选择。
新开通的梅汕铁路共有4对高峰线列车往返汕头站和梅州西站,全程最快仅需1小时16分。新开的汕头站往长沙南站方向的高铁列车,途径潮汕、陆丰、惠州南、深圳北、虎门、广州南、韶关、衡山西等站点,全程约6小时,比原来的普速列车节省了10小时以上。
