The 2005 Top 200 Charming Cities in China, which were jointly selected by institutions such as World Union of VIP Enterprises, US-China Economic Trade and Investment General Chamber of Commerce, and China Famous Brand Online, were announced on October 17, 2005. Two hundred Chinese cities including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan were on the list.

Listed cities in Guangdong include Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Nanhai, Shunde, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Zhaoqing, Shaoguan, Yangjiang, Jiangmen, Foshan, Chaozhou, Zhanjiang, Shaoguan, Yangjiang, Qingyuan and Heyuan.
