On the afternoon of April 10, the signing ceremony of Capital and Stock Increase of China Merchants Port Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in Shantou Port Group Corp. was held in Yingbin Hotel Shantou. Chen Liangxian, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, and Mayor Liu Xiaotao attended the signing ceremony, had discussions with Li Xiaopeng, Vice Chairman and General Manager of China Merchants Group, and had in-depth exchanges on accelerating the advancement of multilevel and all-round strategic cooperation between China Merchants Group and Shantou.
 

This time, China Merchants Port Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shantou Municipality and Shantou Port Group Corp. signed the agreement for capital and stock increase in Shantou Port Group Corp. They would take the capital and stock increase of China Merchants Port Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in Shantou Port Group Corp. as the opportunity, optimize the ownership structure of Shantou Port Group Corp., enhance the development vitality of Shantou Port Group Corp.; rely on the global network and business resources of China Merchants Port, attract more international routes to anchor in Shantou port, enhance and drive the operation ability of Shantou Port Group Corp., make Shantou Port larger and stronger; take the joint venture as the platform, conduct diversified businesses, enhance the profitability of the Company, and boost Shantou to build a central city in eastern Guangdong, a regional transportation shipping center and  an important gateway for the 21st Century "Maritime Silk Road".
