On the morning of January 9th, the construction of Shantou High-speed Railway Station Hub Integrated Project officially started on the east side of the Shantou Railway station. The project mainly includes the construction of a new modern high-speed railway station building of 100,000 square meters and the East Square covering an area of 48,000 square meters. The station accommodates 11 railway platforms and 23 lines, among which 8 platforms and 17 lines are for high-speed railway. It will be forged to be a comprehensive transportation hub with the integration of high-speed railway, general railway, inter-city railway and urban rail transit. At the same time, with the high-speed railway station as the core, a 3.1-square-kilometer central business district will be planned and constructed, and the surrounding 47-square-kilometer area will be comprehensively developed to promote the integrated development of the station and the city, to further elevate the urban development energy level, to enhance the integrated service function of Shantou-Chaozhou-Jieyang Metropolitan Area, and to strengthen the interactive development of "Double Cores + Double Subcenters".

汕头高铁站枢纽一体化工程启建
1月9日上午，汕头高铁站枢纽一体化工程在汕头火车站东侧正式启动建设。该工程主要包含新建10万平方米的现代化高铁站房，以及占地4.8万平方米的东广场，站场规模为11台23线，其中高铁8台17线，将打造成为集高铁、普铁、城际铁路、城轨等多种方式于一体的综合性交通枢纽。同时，以高铁站为核心，将规划建设3.1平方公里的中央商务区，并对周边47平方公里范围进行综合开发，推动站城融合发展，进一步提升城市发展能级，增强汕潮揭都市圈综合服务功能,强化“双核+双副中心”的联动发展。
