Shantou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone has been Officially Approved for Establishment

The State Council officially approved the establishment of the Shantou Comprehensive Free Trade recently. This marks another important step for the city in launching a new round of further opening up and has provided new impetus for Shantou' s construction of a new open economic system.
In January last year, the State Council introduced a policy that gave the comprehensive free trade zone a new mission of reform and opening up, focusing on creating a special customs supervision area with international competitiveness and innovation. Seizing this opportunity, our city integrated Shantou Free Trade Zone and Shantou Bonded Logistics Center to apply for the establishment of a comprehensive free trade zone, and was successfully approved after about one year. Shantou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone will make full use of the overlaid policy advantages of the comprehensive free trade zone, cross-border e-commerce comprehensive trial zone and free trade zone to continuously boost the high-level opening and high-quality development of the whole zone, strive to become a nationally advanced comprehensive free trade zone in at most 3 to 5 years, and try to develop itself into a new highland of open economy in Shantou and even in eastern Guangdong.

汕头综合保税区正式获批设立
国务院日前正式批复同意设立汕头综合保税区，标志着我市在打造新一轮扩大开放新高地上又迈出了重要一步，为汕头构建开放型经济新体制注入了新动力。
去年1月，国务院出台政策，赋予综合保税区改革开放新使命，着力打造具有国际竞争力和创新力的海关特殊监管区域。我市抓住这一契机，整合汕头保税区和汕头保税物流中心申报设立综合保税区，历时近一年后成功获批。汕头综合保税区将充分运用综合保税区、跨境电商综试区、自贸区三区政策叠加优势，不断推动全区实现高水平开放高质量发展，力争用3至5年的时间打造成为全国先进的综合保税区，努力发展成为汕头乃至粤东开放型经济新高地。
