The Feasibility Study Report on the Eastern Guangdong Inter-city Railway for Chaozhou East - Shantou Section Project is Approved

In order to further improve the comprehensive transport networks in eastern Guangdong and advance to regional economic integration of Shantou, Chaozhou and Jieyang, the People's Government of Guangdong Province has prepared and issued the Overall Work Program and Engineering Construction Plan for the Eastern Guangdong "One Ring One Ray" Inter-city Railway Project, and made the overall plan and arrangements for Eastern Guangdong Inter-city Railway.Recently, the feasibility study report on the Chaozhou East - Shantou Section Project of Eastern Guangdong Inter-city Railway was approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, marking an important milestone in the preliminary work for the Project.
According to the official reply, the Chaozhou East - Shantou Section Project of Eastern Guangdong Inter-city Railway will be led out from Chaozhou East Railway Station, via South Fengchun Road and National Highway 324, and will be led into Shantou Station Inter-city Yard. The total length of the new main track is 42.356 kilometers, with 7 stations Xiangqiao, Peninsula Plaza, Longdu, Lianyang, Chenghai, Waisha and Longhu. The conditions for setting up a station in Hanjiang New Town are reserved.At the north end of Shantou Station, a line will be set up to connect the Guangzhou - Meizhou - Shantou Railway.The driving speed in plan is 160 kilometers per hour, and the speed-up conditions are reserved in some areas.The estimated total investment of the Project is RMB 13.871 billion, and the total construction period is 4.5 years.

粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段项目可研报告获批复
为进一步完善粤东地区综合交通运输网络，推动汕潮揭区域经济一体化，省政府编制印发《粤东城际铁路“一环一射线”项目总体工作方案和工程建设计划》，对粤东城际铁路作出总体部署安排。近日，粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段项目可行性研究报告获省发改委批复，标志着工程前期工作取得阶段性重要进展。
根据批复，粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段项目自潮州东站引出，经枫春南路、324国道，引入汕头站城际场，新建正线全长42.356公里，设湘桥、半岛广场、隆都、莲阳、澄海、外砂、龙湖等7座车站，预留韩江新城设站条件。汕头站北端设联络线连接广梅汕铁路。项目设计行车时速160公里，局部预留提速条件。项目投资估算总额138.71亿元，建设总工期为4.5年。
