On October 19, the Shantou Municipal People's Government and the South China Institute of Environmental Sciences of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "South China Institute") held a ceremony for signing the Framework Agreement for Strategic Cooperation at Shantou Yingbin Hotel.
According to the Agreement, the two sides will adhere to the principles of "drawing on each other's comparative strengths, sharing resources, and pursuing mutual benefit and common development", closely follow the scientific and technological requirements of Shantou for ecological and environmental protection, give full play to the advantages of the South China Institute in terms of talents, scientific research results, scientific and technological reserves and innovation platforms, and comprehensively deepen cooperation between the two sides in decision-making consultation, scientific and technological services, and talent exchange in the field of ecological and environmental protection, comprehensively enhance Shantou's capacity for ecological and environmental governance, and contribute to building a green and livable smart city.

10月19日，汕头市人民政府与生态环境部华南环境科学研究所在汕头迎宾馆举行战略合作框架协议签约仪式。
根据协议，双方将本着“优势互补、资源共享、互利共赢、共同发展”原则，紧密结合我市生态环境保护的科技需求，充分发挥华南所人才、科研成果、科技储备及创新平台等方面优势，全面深化双方在生态环境保护领域决策咨询、科技服务、人才交流等方面的合作，全面提升我市生态环境治理水平，为打造绿色宜居的智慧都市作出贡献。
