On April 8, the 7th Global Chaoren Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference and 2023 Overseas Teochew People New Economy Conference were held in Shantou. Leading experts, elites and leaders from different fields both at home and abroad gathered to share and exchange themes closely related to digitalization, such as the digital economy, the metaverse, artificial intelligence, and smart medicine. The Conference released the 2023 White Paper on New Economy Development through Chaoren Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which provides the "Action Guidelines" for enterprises to speed up efforts to foster new growth drivers and achieve the "upgrade of digital and smart technologies", for the purpose of boosting the high-quality development of Shantou's economy. The launch ceremony for the "Chaoren Innovation and Entrepreneurship" digital collection and the signing ceremony for the Teochew People Metaverse platform were also held at the conference site. Seed MaaS (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and Shantou University signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the Intelligent Manufacturing Algorithm Laboratory.
