On July 5, Shantou held the Signing and Commencement of the Major Projects in the Second Quarter of 2023 and the Overseas Chinese Pilot Zone On-site Meeting for "Developing Shantou Based on Industry, and Boosting Shantou's Strength through Industry".
A total of 66 major projects were signed, started and put into operation at the signing event, with a total investment of about RMB 35.7 billion, covering various fields such as new energy, new materials, digital economy, cross-border E-commerce, headquarters economy, high-end intelligent manufacturing, and "construction of new buildings after demolition of old buildings". After these projects are completed, they will play an important role in supporting Shantou to continuously improve the industrial chain concentration level, accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system, and gain the initiative for achieving new leap-frog progress in the new round of development.

7月5日，我市举办2023年第二季度重大项目签约开工投产活动暨“工业立市、产业强市”华侨试验区现场会。
本次活动签约、开工、投产的重大项目共66个，总投资约357亿元，涵盖新能源、新材料、数字经济、跨境电商、总部经济、高端智能制造、“工改工”等多个领域，建成后将对我市持续提升产业链集聚水平、加快构建现代化产业体系起到重要支撑作用，为汕头在新一轮发展中实现新跃升赢得主动。
