The Delegation of Macau Chiu Chow Association Visits Shantou

On the afternoon of August 22, at the reception hall of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, met with the delegation of Macao Chiu Chow Community Organizations, the honorary leader of which was Liu Yiliang, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Deputy to the National People’s Congress, and Chairman of the Federation of Macao Chiu Chow Community Organizations, and the leader of which was Chen Weichi, President of Macau Chiu Chow Association. The two sides renewed their compatriot friendship and their love for their hometown, and discussed the plans for cooperation and development.
During their stay in Shantou, the delegation went to Shantou Welfare Institute to extend their greetings and concerns, and visit the Urban Planning Hall and the Intangible Heritage Cultural Center at Chaoshan Historical and Cultural Expo Center. They were so excited and moved by the rapid changes and booming development in urban and rural Shantou. Chen Weichi, President of Macau Chiu Chow Association, said that as Macau's first large hometown-returning delegation after the COVID-19 pandemic, he hoped that through this visit, more Macao people of Chaozhou origin would be encouraged to return to their hometown and more Macao people would be encouraged to have investments and booming business operations in Shantou.

澳门潮州同乡会访问团莅汕访问
8月22日下午，市委书记温湛滨在市委迎宾厅会见由中国侨联副主席、全国人大代表、澳门潮属社团总会主席刘艺良为荣誉团长，澳门潮州同乡会会长陈维炽为团长的澳门潮籍社团访问团，双方畅叙乡情乡谊，共谋合作发展。
在汕期间，访问团一行走进市福利院开展慰问活动，并来到潮汕历史文化博览中心，参观城市规划馆、非遗文化馆，对汕头城乡日新月异的变化和蓬勃发展的态势深感振奋。澳门潮州同乡会会长陈维炽表示，作为疫情后澳门首次大规模返乡访问团，希望通过此次访问考察，让更多澳门的潮籍乡亲回家乡看看，推动更多澳人到汕头投资兴业。
