On the afternoon of October 8, a delegation led by Allen Shi Lop-tak, President of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, visited Shantou and had in-depth exchanges with Shantou on further strengthening economic and trade exchanges between Shantou and Hong Kong to draw on each other’s comparative strengths and achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
On behalf of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee and Shantou Municipal People’s Government, Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee welcomed the delegation. He hoped that the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong would continue to play a role as a bridge and bond, leverage its own resources and strengths, support strong alliances between Shantou and Hong Kong enterprises, continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation, and contribute to promoting win-win cooperation between Shantou and Hong Kong and achieving high-quality development. Allen Shi Lop-tak said that the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong would, as always, continue to support Shantou's economic and social development, and taking the opportunity of helping Shantou prepare the "Two Grand Conventions" (the 22th Teochew International Convention and the 10th World Chaoshan Entrepreneurs Convention in 2024), guide more people of Shantou origin and business people Hong Kong to return to Shantou to visit relatives and friends, conduct investigation and exchanges, and invest and do business, adding more Hong Kong elements to Shantou's acceleration of modernization.
