With the 61st "Africa Day" just around the corner, Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association and Shantou Public Diplomacy Association jointly organized the 2024 "Africa Day" and Guangdong (Shantou) Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Activities in Shantou from May 21 to 22.The representatives of the consulate generals from several African countries including Congo in Guangzhou and their entourages came to Shantou to participate in the activities and conduct field visits.
This is the first time that the "Africa Day" activities were organized outside the Pearl River Delta region. During their stay in Shantou, the Guangdong (Shantou) Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Fair was organized, at which the representatives from Shantou Chenghai Toy Association and Shantou Textiles and Clothing Industry Association had made industrial development promotions respectively. In addition, these representatives from African countries and their entourages were also organized to conduct fields visits and exchanges at the Shantou Guang'ao Port Area, the historical and cultural block of Shantou Small Park, Shantou Cultural Center, Gooders Precision Technology Co., Ltd., Hoton Toys Showroom, and Honji Underwear Co. Ltd., etc. Through field visits, these guests from African countries had gained a deeper understanding and awareness of the achievements of Shantou's economic and social development in recent years, as well as the unique landscape and culture of Chaoshan area.

2024年“非洲日”暨广东（汕头）非洲经贸合作交流活动在汕头举办
在第61个“非洲日”即将到来之际，5月21日至22日，广东公共外交协会、汕头公共外交协会在汕头联合举办2024年“非洲日”暨广东（汕头）非洲经贸合作交流活动。刚果等非洲多国驻广州总领事馆代表及随行人员莅汕参加活动，并进行实地考察。
本次“非洲日”活动是首次在珠三角地区外举办。在汕期间，举办了广东（汕头）非洲经贸合作交流会，汕头市澄海玩具协会、汕头市纺织服装产业协会代表分别作产业发展推介，还组织前往汕头港广澳港区、小公园历史文化街区、汕头市文化馆、高德斯精密科技有限公司、宏腾玩具展厅、宏杰内衣股份有限公司等地参观交流。通过实地走访，非洲客人深入了解和感受近年来汕头经济社会发展的成果以及潮汕地区的风土人情和文化。
