On August 5, the Cable-Stayed Bridge of the East Guangdong Intercity Railway over the Nanxi River was successfully joined as the last steel box girder was hoisted into place and precisely set into the span. The bridge was invested in and constructed by Guangdong Provincial Railway Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., with construction management led by China Railway Southern Investment Group Co., Ltd., and built by China Railway Guangzhou Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. This bridge features the largest single span and the most complex main structure in the East Guangdong Intercity Railway Project. The completion of its main structure marks the first major milestone toward the successful completion of the entire East Guangdong Intercity Railway.
The Bridge over the Nanxi River is a key control project on the East Guangdong Intercity Railway. It is located in Chenghai District, Shantou City, and has a total length of 510 meters with a main span of 280 meters. This cable-stayed bridge features steel-concrete composite girders, double towers, double cable planes, and a semi-floating structural system. Notably, the height of its main tower and the length of its main span are the greatest along the entire line.

粤东城际铁路南溪河斜拉桥合龙
8月5日，随着最后一节钢箱梁吊装到位，精准嵌入跨中，由广东铁投投资建设、中铁南方牵头施工管理、中铁广州工程局承建的粤东城际铁路南溪河斜拉桥顺利合龙。该大桥是粤东城际铁路项目全线单跨跨度最大、桥梁主体结构最复杂的桥梁，主体结构的施工完成，为粤东城际铁路顺利贯通吹响第一声号角。
跨南溪河特大桥是粤东城际铁路关键控制性工程之一，位于我市澄海区，全长510米，主跨280米，为双塔双索面半漂浮体系钢混组合梁斜拉桥，其中主塔高度、主跨跨度均为全线之最。
