On the morning of December 6, the 2025 China Shantou Fresh Corn Conference (6th edition) and the Shantou session of the 24th Guangdong Seed Industry Expo officially opened.
During the event, 214 fresh corn varieties from China's Fresh Corn Circulation industry Union as well as from over 60 research institutions, operating enterprises, and industry representatives across China were showcased in a centralized manner. Experts and scholars conducted appraisal according to the technical standards issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and selected 24 high-quality varieties of sweet corn, glutinous corn, and sweet glutinous corn. These varieties will be promoted and demonstrated throughout the whole industry chain, including seedling cultivation, planting, processing, distribution, and trade. The event also included on-site observation, exchange, and tasting & appraising sessions of various corn varieties, providing a platform for interaction and connection between seed producers and users. This enabled attendees to stay up to date on the latest corn trends and gain an accurate sense of the market pulse.

2025年中国汕头鲜食玉米大会开幕
12月6日上午，2025年中国汕头鲜食玉米大会（第六届）暨第二十四届广东种业博览会汕头分会开幕。
活动中，来自中国鲜食玉米流通行业联盟和全国各地60多家科研机构、经营企业、行业代表的214个鲜食玉米品种进行集中展示。专家学者按照农业农村部的技术标准进行评比，选出24个甜玉米、糯玉米、甜加糯玉米优质品种，在培苗、种植、加工、流通、贸易等全产业链领域予以推广示范。现场还进行了玉米品种观摩交流和尝鲜品鉴，为种子生产和使用双方搭建了交流对接平台，让与会者及时了解当前玉米新趋势，准确把握市场脉搏。
