On February 28, the extension project of the Chaoshan Airport terminal area started.After the extension, the Chaoshan Airport can meet the transport demand of annual passenger throughput of 14.5 million and the annual cargo throughput of over 90,000 tons and the annual take-off and landing volume of 100,000 sorties.

The design of the extension project of the Chaoshan Airport terminal area is planned to be completed in 2025. The main construction contents include: extending the existing terminal building southwest to form the domestic terminal area with an area of more than 53,000 square meters, and extending it northeast to form the international departure corridor, covering an area of 5,000 square meters; extending the South terminal park to add nearly 14 aircraft positions; constructing a new comprehensive transportation center, an energy center, a building for the airport operation and control center and overnight accommodation for passengers as supporting facilities and so on.The construction of this project will further enhance the infrastructure support capabilities of the airport, meet the growing demand for aviation in Chaoshan area, truly realize seamless connection to high-speed rail and intercity transportation, and better help the economic development of eastern Guangdong area.

潮汕机场航站区扩建工程开工

        2月28日，潮汕机场航站区扩建工程开工。扩建后，潮汕机场可满足年旅客吞吐量1450万人次、年货运吞吐量超过9万吨、年飞机起降量10万架次的运输需求。

        潮汕机场航站区扩建工程设计目标年为2025年，主要建设内容包括：将现航站楼向西南侧扩建国内航站楼，面积53000多平方米，向东北侧扩建国际候机指廊，面积5000平方米；扩建南站坪，新增近机位14个，新建综合交通中心、能源中心、机场运控中心大楼，配套建设旅客过夜用房等。该项目建设，将进一步提升机场基础设施保障能力，满足潮汕地区航空增长需求，真正实现无缝接驳高铁、城际交通，更好地助力粤东地区经济发展。
