After the opening of the East Line of Shantou Bay Tunnel, the project once again received good news—the third section of the bedrock convex section has been captured during the shield tunneling at the west line, which is the section with the highest rock strength and the highest construction risk of the sixth section of the shield tunnel at the east and west lines! So far, the shield machine at the east and west lines has passed the bedrock convex section safely and smoothly, creating a precedent for direct tunneling of the domestic extremely hard and soft composite strata shield. As of May 25, the shield at the west line has tunneled a total of 2,414 meters, with 632 meters remained. It is expected to be completed in August this year.

汕头海湾隧道西线预计8月贯通
继汕头海湾隧道东线贯通后,项目再次传来喜讯——西线盾构掘进已攻克第三段基岩凸起段,该段为东、西线盾构隧道六段基岩凸起中岩石强度最大、施工风险最高的一段!至此,东西线盾构机都安全顺利地通过基岩凸段,开创了国内极硬极软组合地层盾构直接掘进的先河。截至5月25日,西线盾构已累计掘进2414米,剩余632米,预计今年8月实现贯通。
