Niutianyang is located in the western suburb of Shantou, on the west side of Rongjiang River. It has a unique ecological environment, with tree-lined miles landscape long dike, tracts of shallow beaches, and the wetland scenery of "sunset clouds and egrets flying together", to make it as a real "paradise for migratory birds".

Egrets are known as "monitoring birds for atmospheric and water quality conditions". The changes in the egret population can be used as a dynamic indicator of regional environmental monitoring. In recent years, the construction of ecological civilization in our city has been further improved. Niutianyang, as the ecological business card of Shantou's ecology, has become an excellent resort for "eco-friendly birds" egrets to set up nest. And the mangroves, which have just begun to show their early results, just like mothers, spread their arms to shelter all kinds of rare birds in Niutianyang, and making the birds grow up at ease.

“环保鸟”白鹭“认证”汕头牛田洋生态

牛田洋地处汕头市西郊，榕江西侧，拥有得天独厚的生态环境，这里有绿树成荫的十里景观长堤，成片的浅水滩涂，更有“落霞与白鹭齐飞”的湿地美景，是名符其实的“候鸟天堂”。

  白鹭被称为“大气和水质状况的监测鸟”，鹭种群数量的变化可作为地区环境监测的一项动态指标。近年来，我市生态文明建设深入推进，作为汕头生态名片的牛田洋成为“环保鸟”白鹭安营扎寨的绝佳胜地，而刚成效初显的红树林群正如母亲一样展开双臂，呵护牛田洋里的各种珍稀鸟类，让它们安心成长。
