On the morning of December 26, one of the supporting facilities of the Shantou Bay Cross-Sea Tunnel, the 60.5-meter-high wind tower on the north bank, was topped off, 15 days ahead of the original schedule.
The Shantou Bay Cross-Sea Tunnel is the first super-large-diameter cross-sea shield tunnel located in a seismic intensity zone of 8 degrees in China, and its construction progress has always attracted attention. According to the plan, a wind tower will be installed on the north and south banks of the tunnel. The main project of the wind tower on the south bank was completed on July 18.
With the theme of "carving" the history, the wind tower on the north bank integrates the architectural features of Shantou's traditional residential buildings, and extracts the pillar style of Shantou's residential buildings constructed by overseas Chinese returnees that combine Chinese and Western styles to form a lotus column with vertical grooves on the pillar. After the civil construction is completed, the wind tower on the north bank will continue to be decorated with glass curtain walls and other external decorations to create an image landmark of the bay cross-sea tunnel.
