On the afternoon of March 9, Peleg Lewi, the Consul Generalof the State of Israel in Guangzhou, paid a visit to Shantou and had a deep exchange with our city in regard to advancing the construction of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and strengthening the cooperation in the fields of science and technology, industry, culture, talents and so on.

During the meeting, Mayor Zeng Fengbao hoped that the Consulate General of the State of Israel in Guangzhou would continue to pay close attention to Shantou and its construction and development, support the friendly exchanges between the two places, and bridge the exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, education, economy and trade, scientific and technological innovation between the two places. Shantou will provide better and better services to Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and other cooperation projects, and make every effort to deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two places to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Peleg Lewi said that the establishment of the Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology has received strong support from Shantou. The Consulate General of the State of Israel in Guangzhou will continue to give full support to the development of the institute, hoping to strengthen cooperation in scientific research and talents, so as to better serve Shantou's industrial and technological development as an engine of economic development.

　　3月9日下午，以色列驻广州总领事劳霈乐一行莅汕，与我市就进一步推进广东以色列理工学院建设发展，以及加强在科技、产业、文化、人才等领域合作进行深入交流。

　　市长曾风保在座谈中希望以色列驻广州总领事馆一如既往地关心支持汕头的建设和发展，支持两地友好往来，为两地开展文化、教育、经贸、科技创新等领域的交流合作牵线搭桥。汕头将为广东以色列理工学院及其他合作项目提供更好更优的服务，全力推进两地深化交流合作，实现互利共赢。

　　劳霈乐表示，广东以色列理工学院的创办得到了汕头的大力支持，以色列驻广州总领事馆将继续全力支持学院发展，希望在科研、人才等方面加强合作，更好地为汕头的产业、科技发展服务，成为经济发展的一个引擎。
