The former site of the British Consulate Office located in the Nanbin area of our city downtown is one of the precious buildings that record the urban development trajectory of Shantou since the opening of the port. It is also one of the only 10 former sites of British Consulate Office in China, covering a total area of 4,200 square meters. In April 2019, the renovation project of the former site of the British Consulate Office (main building renovation) was under construction, mainly for the restoration and renovation of 5 cultural relics, involving a total area of 1,100 square meters. The renovation content includes structural reinforcement, post-addition building demolition, indoor and outdoor restoration and decoration of buildings, outdoor drainage works, etc.

At present, the renovation project of the main buildings has been completed, and the follow-up renovation works and the exploit of historical and cultural resources are being implemented simultaneously. In the future, our city will combine the development goal of the Queshi Scenic Area to build a national 5A-level tourist attraction, fully exploit and display the history of Shantou's opening of the port behind the Consulate Office, and further enhance and optimize the cultural tourism value of the Queshi area.

　　汕头英国领事署旧址主体建筑修缮完工

　　位于我市中心城区南滨片区的英国领事署旧址是记载汕头开埠以来城市发展轨迹的珍贵建筑物之一，也是目前全国仅存的10处原英领事署旧址之一，总占地面积约4200平方米。2019年4月，英国领事署旧址修缮工程(本体修缮)开始施工，主要对5座文物本体建筑进行复原修缮，总修缮面积1100平方米，修缮内容包括建筑结构加固、后加建筑物拆除、建筑室内外复原装修、室外排水工程等。

　　目前，该工程主体建筑修缮已完工，后续修缮工作和历史文化资源挖掘正同步实施中。下来，我市将结合礐石风景名胜区打造国家5A级旅游景区的发展目标，充分挖掘和展示领事署背后所蕴含的汕头开埠历史，进一步提升和优化礐石片区的文旅价值。
