On the afternoon of May 26, the renovation project of Shantou Zhengda Gymnasium for the 3rd Asian Youth Games successfully passed the check and acceptance upon completion, becoming the first gymnasium building that passed the check and acceptance upon completion among the construction projects of Shantou's gymnasiums for Asian Youth Games.

As a badminton competition venue for Shantou Asian Youth Games, after having been renovated, the main hall of Shantou Zhengda Gymnasium has about 3,200 seats. The center of the building is the competition venue, and the north and south sides are the spectator seats. In addition to some spectator seats in the front of the east and west sides, the four-story building in the back serves as other auxiliary rooms, which can meet the needs of different functions, such as athletes' preparation, news interview, sports exhibition, and TV relay. Meanwhile, the national flag hoisting system is added to meet the requirements of the awarding ceremony during the competition. The newly-built comprehensive training hall is adjacent to the main hall. During the Asian Youth Games, it will be used as a supporting warm-up training venue and event operation and management center for badminton competitions, and in daily life, it will be used as a sports training venue and office building. After the project has passed the check and acceptance upon completion, the venue testing and event preparation stages will start.

汕头首个亚青场馆通过竣工验收

　　5月26日下午，第三届亚青会汕头正大体育馆改造工程顺利通过竣工验收，成为我市亚青会场馆建设项目中第一个通过竣工验收的场馆。

　　作为汕头亚青会羽毛球比赛场馆，汕头正大体育馆主馆改造后观众座位约3200席，建筑物中央为比赛场地，南北两侧为观众席，东西两侧除前面设部分观众席外，后面的四层楼房为其他辅助用房，可满足赛事期间运动员准备、新闻采访、体育展示、电视转播等不同功能需要。同时，增加了国旗升降系统，满足比赛时举行颁奖仪式的需求。新建的综合训练馆与主馆相邻，亚青会期间将作为羽毛球比赛的配套热身训练场地和赛事运营管理中心，日常则作为体育训练场地和各种办公用房。该工程通过竣工验收后，下一步将进入场馆测试和赛事准备阶段。
