Recently, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Pavilion Block and the Xidi Block in the port-opening area of Shantou Small Park were included into the list of the third group of historical and cultural blocks in Guangdong Province.

The port-opening area of Shantou Small Park is located in the old city proper, which is a relatively well-preserved port-opening area among the 34 port-opening cities in China. The area presents a circular radial urban block pattern, with such historical relics as Shantou General Post Office Building, Chaohaiguan Courtyard, Waima Road Sotto Portico, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Pavilion, Nansheng Department Store, the Central Revolutionary Communication Route and other characteristic architecture, as well as a large area of sotto porticos, buildings, streets and alleys, which have profound urban cultural value.

　　汕头小公园两街区入选广东省历史文化街区

　　近日，汕头小公园开埠区中山纪念亭街区、西堤街区入选第三批广东省历史文化街区。

　　汕头小公园开埠区位处老城区，是我国34个开埠城市中保存较完好的开埠区。该区域呈现环形放射状城市街区格局，现保留着汕头邮政局、潮海关大院、外马路骑楼、中山纪念亭南生百货大楼、红色交通线等特色建筑，以及大面积的旧时骑楼、建筑、街巷等，具有深厚的城市人文价值。
