Shantou City attaches great importance to rebuilding old urban residential areas. It has broken down the content of the rebuilding into special tasks, such as water supply, gas supply and installation of lifts for old buildings, and incorporated them into ten livelihood programs. Since 2019, Shantou’s municipal department of housing and urban-rural development has organized the counties and districts to carry out seven screening statistics, supplementation and improvement concerning old urban residential areas. On this basis, the rebuilding plan from 2021 to 2025 has been scientifically prepared, and the scopes and contents of the rebuilding have been reasonably determined.

At present, the rebuilding of old urban residential areas in Shantou City is showing a good momentum of continuous progress in full swing. This year, Shantou City plans to complete the rebuilding of 144 old urban residential areas, involving more than 40,000 households, with a total investment of about RMB 827 million. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Shantou City will strive to basically complete the rebuilding of 627 old urban residential areas which were built before the end of 2000 and which need to be rebuilt, benefiting more than 500,000 people after the rebuilding.

　　汕头5年拟改造627个老旧小区

　　我市高度重视城镇老旧小区改造工作，将改造内容分解为供水、供气、加装电梯等专项工作，纳入市十件民生实事。2019年以来，我市住建部门先后组织各区县对老旧小区进行了七次摸查统计、补充完善工作，在此基础上科学编制2021年至2025年改造计划，合理确定改造范围及改造内容。

　　目前，我市城镇老旧小区改造工作呈现持续推进、全面开花的良好态势，今年计划完成144个老旧小区改造任务，涉及4万多户居民，总投资额约8.27亿元；力争到“十四五”期末，基本完成2000年底前建成且需改造的老旧小区共627个，改造后惠及50多万人。
