Recently, the 9th Vancouver Chinese Film Festival was concluded. The Chaoshan dialect film "God Bless Me", directed by young Chinese director Gao Feng, won the Best Debut Director Award.Not long ago, this film was nominated for the Best Film Award, Best Chinese Film Award and Best Director Award at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival.

The Film tells the story of several Chaoshan young people who have a musical dream. Although they have experienced the heavy pressure of life and they were questioned and denied, they still grow up all the way with their aspiration, pioneering spirit and their mothers’ saying "your mother supports you", and form a team to set foot on the rap stage and shine with all they have.Director Gao Feng said that the combination of touching themes and the unique Chaoshan culture has created conditions for the success of this film. Both the character image and the background setting of the Film are full of traditional culture.

　　潮汕方言电影摘国际大奖

　　日前，第九届温哥华华语电影节落幕，由我国青年导演高峰执导的潮汕方言电影《老爷保号》获最佳导演（处女作）大奖。不久前，这部电影在多伦多诺莱坞国际电影节获得最佳电影、最佳华语电影以及最佳导演三项大奖提名。

　　该片讲述的是几位潮汕青年心怀音乐梦，经历过生活的重压，接收过质疑否定声，仍凭着一腔热血、冲劲与母亲的那句“妈妈支持你”，一路成长，并组队踏上说唱舞台发光的故事。导演高峰表示，感人的主题与潮汕独特的文化相结合，为这部电影的成功创造了条件，不论是影片的角色形象还是背景设定都带有浓浓的传统文化色彩。
